Townies Use Long Ball to Defeat Saints 5-2
Morgan Johnson hit a 3 run homerun in the second inning and Casey Gonsalves added a solo shot in the sixth inning to get EP back in the win column.  Both homeruns were the first hits for each player this season.  Caity Arico added her first hit of the year as well, an RBI single in the second inning.  Gonsalves in relief of Kelley Clancy in the fifth, allowed only 2 hits while blanking the Saints through the final three frames.  EP's defense was errorless for the third time this year.  The Townies improved to 2-3 on the year.

Pilgrim Pummels Error Prone Townies
The East Providence Softball Team committed a school record 8 errors in a 5-0 loss to Pilgrim on Saturday in Warwick.   Less than 24 hours after dropping a tough 4-3 loss to Cranston West, EP came out flat and turned in one of the worst performances since team records have been kept in 1999.  The Townie offense mustered only two singles on the day (Julanne DeWillis and Ashley Curti).  EP fell to 1-3.

Townies Drop HeartBreaker
Despite outplaying the Falcons in almost every phase of the game, EP dropped its second straight game by the score of 4-3.  Casey Gonsalves had a no-hitter through the first 4 1/3 innings before issuing a walk, a single and a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Gonsalves was the tough luck loser, allowing only 2 hits on the day.  Beth Barron doubled off the left field fence to start the 6th inning, but was stranded there ending the last threat by EP.  Kelley Clancy added a two-run triple in the 3rd inning.  EP is now 1-2 on the year.

BayView Overtakes Townies 3-2 in 8 Innings
Despite playing a great game, the Townies fell to a very strong BayView team 3-2 in 8 innings.  The Townies jumped out to 2-0 lead in the first inning on Kelley Clancy's two-run double.  Despite many scoring opportunities, EP could not muster another run.  BayView scratched across a run in the 5th and tied the game with one out in the 7th inning.  In the 8th inning, using the international tie-breaker, EP was able to get their runner to third base with one out, but failed to get the clutch hit.  BayView however,  capitalized in their half of the 8th inning, scoring on a one out hit to right center.  The Townies got an excellent game from junior hurler, Kelley Clancy.  For the second straight game the Townie D did not commit an error.
