Sept 17, 2014-- TOWNIES TRAVEL TO CLASSICAL AND TAKE DOWN THE PURPLE, 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-20). It always seems like going to Classical brings out the best in EP. The Townies played their best match of the season and hopefully are turning the corner away from early season issues. It was a total team effort as the girls have been working hard to fight for consistency. The Townie JV team won their match 2-0.
Sept 12, 2014-- EP BOUNCES BACK TO DEFEAT BAY VIEW, 3-0 (25-9, 25-20, 25-9). The Townies got off to a quick start behind solid serving. The team lost some focus in game 2 but quickly got it back together to close out the match in 3. EP will play at Classical on Wednesday evening.
Sept 10, 2014-- TOWNIES LOSE AT MOUNT, AS A SERIOUS LACK OF BALL CONTROL CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM, 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-12). Hitting errors, passing errors, serving errors, take your pick. If there was an error to be made, the Townies covered it Wednesday night. EP had 41 ball handling errors in the three games. Included in that is a total collapse in game two, up 23-17, only to be served off the court. Game three showed no different as Mount took it to EP. The JV team won their match 2-1 in bouncing back from their poor Cumberland showing. EP will play at home on Friday against Bay View.
Sept 5, 2014-- EP TRAVELS TO CUMBERLAND TO PICK UP SECOND LEAGUE WIN, 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 26-24, 25-11). The Townies continue to fight themselves as they try to reach a consistent level of play. Service errors and passing errors continue to be a problem for the team. In each game, the Townies gave the Clippers over half their points. Game three saw the team lose 26-24 after leading 22-19. Emma Drolet and Corrie Traverse led the way for EP. The Townie JV team turned in a lackluster performance in losing to 2-0.
Sept 3, 2014-- TOWNIES WIN IN UGLY FASHION, DEFEAT LASALLE 3-0 ( 25-23, 25-18, 25-20). Early season volleyball can be a little tough to watch with careless ball handling and service errors as well as inconsistent play. But when all the errors and mistakes come at one time, it can be an ugly experience. EP had one of those Wednesday night. Serving, passing, serve receive and blocking were sub par and a result EP squeaked one out against LaSalle. Cassia Spivey was the lone consistent player as she continuously cleaned up poor passes to make something playable for the attack. She ended up with 18 assists, 4 aces and 2 kills. The JV team won their match 2-0 as they are beginning to show signs of coming together and learning the nuances of the game. EP will play at Cumberland on Friday, 4:45 and 6:30.
August 28, 2014-- EP OPENS UP 2014 SEASON WITH 3-0 WIN OVER BARRINGTON. (25-18, 25-15, 25-11). The Townies started slowly as expected, with numerous serving errors and a lack of timing. it will take time for the team to develop their own identity and establish their role on the floor. The JV team opened with a 2-0 win as well. EP will open the regular season on Wednesday, Sept 3rd at home against LaSalle.
