Nov 3rd, 2012--  TOWNIE JV TEAM CLOSES OUT PERFECT SEASON WITH A JV STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.  What a way to close out the season.  EP took care of business in Pool play to finish 6-0.  EP played long time rival North Kingstown in the Semi-Finals.  EP beat NK twice in pool play and did it again in the semis.  Next up were the Knotty Oakers from Coventry.  Coventry ended the Townies'  2011 season in the State Semis.  2012 is a different year.  EP took out the Oakers 2-0 to win the JV State Championship,  Casey Traverse was chosen as the tournament MVP.  That's no small feat for a libero.  Marina Ramos and Cassia Spivey were chosen to the All Tournament team.  This sophomore class has a 30-0 record over the last two regular seasons and closed out their JV season in style with a Championship.  Congrats to the girls on a job well done.

Oct 18th, 2012-- TOWNIES TAKE DOWN THE PURPLE, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-23)    EP took care of business against Classical as Leah Drolet and Mary Monagle combined for 15 kills and 4 blocks.  Izzy Newton continues her strong play with 23 assists and 3 aces.  EP will return to action on Tuesday October 23rd at home against Mt. St. Charles.  The winner of this match will have sole possession of first place in Division 1 North.  It also is Senior Night for our 9 Seniors (Lindsee Allienello, Mary Monagle, Thomeeka Speaks, Lucianna Medici, Patti Laliberte, Izzy Newton, Nicole Strik and Hannah and Leah Drolet).  Please come out to support the team and the seniors.

Oct 16th, 2012--  EP SWEEPS LASALLE 3-0 (25-19, 25-13, 25-12) After playing an ugly first game the Townies came back to take care of LaSalle.  The Townie JV team remains undefeated with a 2-0 win.  EP will return to action on Thursday night at home against Classical.

Oct 12th, 2012--  EP BEATS CHARIHO IN 3 (25-18, 25-17, 25-18).   The Townies traveled down to Charger country and took care of business.  Leah Drolet led the team in kills with 6 and Mary Monagle added 5 kills and 4 digs.  Hannah Drolet sparked the team in games 2 and 3 with some pinpoint serving. EP will return to league action on Tuesday the 16th at LaSalle.

Oct 3rd, 2012--  TOWNIES KNOCK THE OAKERS FROM THE RANKS OF THE UNBEATEN, 3-1 (26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 25-12).    The match was tight from the get go until the Townies ran out to a big lead in game 4.  The Townies struggled in game 2, giving away too many points on service errors.  Mary Monagle and Leah Drolet combined for 19 kills, and Lucianna Medici had a season high 14 digs.  The Townie JV team also knocked off the Oakers' JV team which was also undefeated.  The Townies won 2-0 to remain undefeated on the season.  The Varsity team will play in the Koch Eye Invitational on Monday at CCRI/Lincoln.  EP will return to league action on Friday the 12th at Chariho.

Sept 29, 2012--  TOWNIE JV TEAM FALLS IN THE 9TH/10TH GRADE TOURNEY.  EP struggled to find consistent play all day.  The team came out of Pool play with the #2 seed.  EP took care of Pilgrim in the Quaterfinals and played LaSalle-White in the Semi's.  The Townies took a commanding 18-11 lead, and then service errors and receive errors did them in.  EP had game point twice, and committed service errors both times.  This is the first time all season that this team has faced adversity and lost and they will get better because of it.

Sept 28, 2012--  TOWNIES TAKE DOWN SOUTH KINGSTOWN, 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-23).  EP came out fast in games 1 and 2 to get ahead of the Rebels and not look back.  Izzy Newton had 18 assists, 3 kills and 8 digs to lead the Townies.  The JV team won their match to stay unbeaten at 8-0.
EP will head to Warwick on Monday night to take on Toll Gate.
Sept 24, 2012--  TOWNIES FALL AT PROUT, 3-0 (18-25, 27-29, 23-25).   It was a tight match as the scores indicate.  The Townies just couldn't manage to make the "winning" plays to secure games two and three.  The Townies level of consisistency wasn't sustained tnroughout the match to enable the team to beat a good Prout team.  The JV team won their match 2-0, coming back in game 1 from some shaky play.  Both teams will play at home on Friday night against South Kingstown.

Sept 17, 2012-- EP FIGHTS BACK TO BEAT PONAGANSET IN 5 (18-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-7, 15-9).  Tonight will hopefully be the night that the Townies arrive as a team. For the first time in this young season the Townies responed to adversity with toughness and grit as a team.   EP handed Ponaganset the first game and it looked like it was going to be a carbon copy of the Mt. St. Charles match.  The Townies responded to take game 2 as a level of consistency was being built.  Game three was tight 23-25, and then EP took off in games 4 and 5.  The real key was serving.  The team has struggled all season to serve consistently.  There have been too many errors.  Games 4 and 5 had EP serving tough and with confidence.  Nicole Strik ripped off a long serving run and had 8 aces for the night.  The biggest key was that the team showed some grit, fight and resolve to not get down on themselves and recover.  Mary Monagle continued to lead the team with 10 kills, and 8 digs.  Izzy Newton has really begun to take over the team on the floor as she added 26 assists, 4 digs, 3 kills and 2 aces.  The JV continued their winning ways, 2-0 to remain undefeated.  EP will return to the court on Wednesday at home against South rival, North Kingstown.  This match will begin the cross-over portion of the league schedule with the D-1 South teams.

Sept 12, 2012--  EP BOUNCES BACK AND SWEEPS BAY VIEW 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-16).   The Townies bounced back from a rough Monday night to take care of the Bengals.  Mary Monagle (10 kills) and Hannah Drolet (9 kills) led the way offensively for EP.  Izzy Newton had her best match of the season with 24 assists, 2 kills and 2 blocks.  The Townies found a more consistent rhythm serving and their offense was much more fluid.  The Townie JV team remains undefeated, winning 2-0.  EP will play their next match at home against Ponaganset on Monday the 17th.  Game times are 5 and 6:30.

Sept 10, 2012--  TOWNIES ARE SWEPT OFF THE FLOOR BY MT. ST. CHARLES 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-17).  It was an ugly match from the very beginning.  EP was timid, unaggressive and error prone.  The Townies had 58 direct point errors ( 22 attack errors, 14 service errors, 10 serve receive errors and 12 net violations).  EP's inconsistent play has to become more steady against better competition if the team is to make strides throughout the season.  The Townie JV team won their match 2-0.

Sept. 7, 2012--  EP PLAYS AN INCONSISTENT MATCH, TAKES DOWN THE PURPLE 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-19).   The Townies moved to 2-0, but did it in ugly fashion.  EP played inconsistent all night as the team went through lapses of uneven play and poor execution.  Mary Monagle had a game 9 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces.  Hannah Drolet added 7 kills, 4 aces and 2 blocks.  EP will travel to Mt. St. Charles on Monday, game times are 4:45 and 6:30.  The Townie JV team picked up their second win of the season 2-0.

Sept. 5, 2012--  TOWNIES TAKE CARE OF LASALLE 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-5)  EP opened the 2012 season with a straight sets win over LaSalle.  The first game of the season is usually up and down and this one proved to be no different.  The Townies played well for stretches and then showed some lapses in focus and execution.  EP was led by Hannah Drolet's game high 7 kills, 5 aces and 2 blocks as well as Mary Monagle's 6 kills and 2 blocks.  The Townie JV squad won their opener 2-0.  Both teams will return to the court at Classical on Friday the 7th, game times are 4:45 and 6:30.
