Boys Outdoor Track & Field: Townies Finish Tenth At Hendricken Invitational
The Boys Outdoor Track & Field team registered yet another top ten finish in major meets finishing tenth at the Hendricken Invitational. The Hendricken Invitational, the final RI State Meet qualifier of the season was held on Saturday May 26, 2012 at Bishop Hendricken. Chris Moura finished second in the Triple Jump, jumping a season best 41'-9". Ryan Williams ran a season best 22.3 to finish second in the 200 Meter. Trystan Casey jumped a season and career best 39'-6" in the Triple Jump and finished fifth. The 4x100 Meter Relay Team consisting of Chris Moura, Josh Rambert, Trystan Casey, and Ryan Williams finished third. The Townies did suffer some misfortune during the competition when Josh Rambert well on his way to winning the 300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles stumbled and fell to the track. Fortunately, Josh did not suffer any serious injury and will be ready to compete at the RI State Mee . The Townies return to varsity action on Saturday June 2, 2012 when they compete in the RI State Meet. The Townies will be well-represented among the state's top track & field athletes. Earning spots in the RI State Meet for the Townies are;Chris Moura in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, Ryan Williams in the 100 Meter and 200 Meter, Josh Rambert in the Long Jump, 400 Meter and 300 Intermediate Hurdles, Jay Andrade in the 800 Meter, Justin Pelletier in the High Jump, and 110 Meter High Hurdles and the 4x100 Meter Relay consisting of Chris Moura, Josh Rambert, Trystan Casey, and Ryan Williams.
