NEW ENGLANDS RESULTS
The 4 x 800m Relay team competed at the New England Track and Field Championships in Saco, ME on Saturday. In a very thrilling end to the season they again broke their own record in the event. The team was seeded 27th and finished a very respectable 17th moving up 10 spots. The new record time was 9:55.97 beating their previous best by 2.5 seconds. Erin Carmone was the lead leg followed by Laura Costa, Jaden Riendeau, and Devhan Hurley the anchor.

WAHEED LEADS TOWNIES IN STATES
Tope Waheed finished up her outstanding career finishing second in the shot put and third in the hammer. Her throws were both PRs, 34'-3.5" in the shot and 155-1 in the hammer. The 4 x 800m Relay team comprised of Laura Costa, Devhan Hurley, Jaden Riendeau and Erin Carmone finished 7th but broke the school record with a time of 9:58.33. Laura Costa had a PR in the 3000m run with a time of 11:10.55 in finishing 10th. Freshman Nicole Haar finished 12th in the 100m Hurdles.

ALLIENELLO LEADS TOWNIES TO 2ND IN JV STATES
Lauren Allienello finished 2nd in both the 200m Dash and the long jump as well as a 5th place finish in the long jump. Allienello's PR in the 200 was 27.9. Liz Caruolo won the high jump with a PR of 4-10. Jaden Riendeau had PRs in both the 1500m (5:23.3) and 800m (2:36.0). Lizzie Costa finished 3rd in the long jump. Jessica Jamgochian finished 4th in the discus. The 4 x 800m Relay team ran a season best time of 10:20.3 while finishing 2nd. The team was made up of Devhan Hurley, Jaden Riendeau, Katie Lydon and Ariana Abbott.

STATE MEET QUALIFIERS
These Townie Girls have qualified for the state championships on Saturday June, 7. Laura Costa in the 3000m, Erin Carmone in the 1500m, Nicole Haar in the 100m Hurdles, and Tope Waheed in 3 events, the shot put, hammer and discus. Also the 4 x 800m Relay team comprising Laura Costa, Devhan Hurley, Jaden Riendeau, and Erin Carmone.

HAAR WINS FRESHMAN HURDLES
Nicole Haar won the 100m Hurdles in the Freshman States yesterday. She ran a time of 16.6 which tied her personal best. Also scoring for the Townies was Brianna Starck finishing 4th in the Javelin. The Girls competed extremely well considering the very poor weather conditions of strong winds and heavy rain.

TOWNIES FINISH 3RD
The Townie Girls finished 3rd in the Eastern Division Meet yesterday. Leading the way was Tope Waheed finishing 2nd in the hammer and shot and 3rd in the discus. Nicole Haar finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles. Also scoring for the Townies was Erin Carmone 3rd in the 1500m and 800m. Laura Costa finished 5th and Jaden Riendeau 6th in the 1500m. Devhan Hurley finished 4th in the 3000m, Lindsey Poole 6th in the hammer. Lauren Allienello finished 5th in the 200m with a PR of 29.1. The 4 x 800m lost a tough race finishing .8 seconds behind Barrington, on that team was Devhan Hurley, Laura Costa, Jaden Riendeau and Erin Carmone.

TOWNIE GIRLS FINISH SEASON 6-2
The Townie Girls finished the season by beating Shea and Tolman on April 30 and by beating Rogers and Middletown on May 6. Leading the Townies was senior thrower Tope Waheed by winning the hammer and shot put in both meets. Other winners were Erin Carmone, Ariana Abbott, Nicole Haar, Lauren Allienello, Laura Costa, Lizzie Costa, and Devhan Hurley.

TOWNIES LOSE 2, BARRINGTON & BAY VIEW
The Townies lost to both Barrington and Bay View yesterday. Leading the Townies were Lauren Allienello, Tope Waheed and Nicole Haar. Allienello competing for the first time in the high finished second with a jump of 4-8. Also continuing her fine season was freshman Nicole Haar who had a PR in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 16.6 and a long jump of 15'-.5". Tope Waheed won the Discus and Shot Put and finished second in the hammer. Waheed had a PR in the shot with a throw of 32-4.5.

WAHEED LEADS WINS 3 LEADING TOWNIES
The Girls Track Team defeated Portsmouth and Mount Hope yesterday. Tope Waheed won 3 events the hammer (138-7), shot put (29-3.5") and the discus (68-0). Other individual winners were Liz Caroulo (4'4") in the high jump, Lauren Allienello (13-2.5") in the long jump, Vanessa Brown (73'0) in the Javelin, Nicole Haar (17.1) in the 100m hurdles, Ariana Abbott (30.5) in the 200m, Laura Costa (5:18) in the 1500m and Devhan Hurley (11:43) in the 3000m.

COSTA & CARVALHO LEAD TOWNIES AT JV STATES
Laura Costa finished 3rd in the 1500m with a time of 5:24.1 and Jasmine Carvalho finished 6th in both the shot and the hammer. Her throw of 98-5 in the hammer was a PR for the season.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
The Townie Girls had 3 individual competitors and 1 relay team in the 2007 RI Outdoor Track and Field Championships, all the girls finished better than their seeding. Tope Waheed competed in 3 events finishing 7th in the hammer (134-4), 12th in the Shot Put (31-0.50), and 16th in the Discus (80-5), Erin Carmone finished 9th in the 1500m (5:09.33), and Devhan Hurley finished 16th in the 3000m (11:35.82). The 4 x 800m Relay team finished 8th with a time (10:27.66), the team was comprised of Joanna Ricci, Erin Carmone, Laura Costa, and Devhan Hurley.

HURLEY LEADS TOWNIES IN PERFORMANCE 2
Devhan Hurley won both the 1500m and the 3000m in the Performance 2 meet on Saturday. Also having strong performances were Laura Costa 3rd in the 1500m and 3000m and Tope Waheed in the hammer (2nd), shot (3rd) and discus (2nd). Competing for the Townies on Saturday in the State Championships are Erin Carmone (1500m), Devhan Hurley (3000m), Tope Waheed (Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer) and the 4 x 800m Relay team comprised of Joanna Ricci, Laura Costa, Devhan Hurley, and Erin Carmone.

CLASS A RESULTS
The Townie Girls finished 8th in the Class A Championships on Saturday. Leading the way was the 4 x 800m Relay comprising Devhan Hurley, Laura Costa, Joanna Ricci and Erin Carmone, they finished 3rd in a season best time of 10:24.3. Also scoring points for the Townies was Erin Carmone who finished 6th in the 1500m Run with a PR of 5:08.9. Tope Waheed finished just out of the points in finishing 7th in both the discus and the hammer. The Townie Girls have one more meet to try and qualify for the States, it will be Saturday at Mt. Pleasant in Performance 2.

FRESHMAN RESULTS
The Townie Freshman Girls finished 14th yesterday in the annual Freshman State Championships in Westerly. The top Townie finisher was Devhan Hurley who finished 3rd in the 1500m run, in finishing 3rd she had a PR with a time of 5:12. Other scorers were Vanessa Brown, 4th in the Javelin. Morganne Booker 5th in the Shot Put. The Townie Girls next compete in the Class A Championships at Mt. Pleasant on Saturday May 19.

TOWNIES FINISH THIRD IN EASTERN DIVISION

The Townie Girls finished third on Saturday in the Eastern Division Championship at Barrington on Saturday. The Townies began the day with a win in the 4 x 800m Relay, the winning relay team was Dehvan Hurley, Laura Costa, Joanna Ricci, and Erin Carmone, in a time of 10:32.1. Individual winners included Devhan Hurley (3000m) and Tope Waheed Discus and 2nd in the hammer. Other scorers in the meet were Erin Carmone 2nd in the 800m, Laura Costa 3rd in the 1500m, Lindsey Poole 3rd in the hammer, Vanessa Brown 4th in the Javelin, Lauren Manning  4th in the Discus and 5th in the hammer, Liz Caruolo 4th in the High Jump, and Jasmine Carvalho 4th in the hammer. The 4 x 400m team of Devhan Hurley, Laura Costa, Lizzie Costa and Erin Carmone finished 3rd, in a thrilling race in which Carmone passed a Bay View runner with about 50 meters to go. East Providence on some late meet heroics was able to pass Portsmouth for 3rd place when Waheed and Manning finished 1st and 4th in the discus to give the Townies enough points to pass Portsmouth.

TOWNIES DROP LAST TWO DUAL MEETS
The Townie Girls lost both dual meets yesterday, Barrington 107-45 and Bay View 108-42 to finish 5-3. Erin Carmone and Devhan Hurley paced the team. Carmone ran a PR in the 800m, 2:30.0, and won the 1500m. Hurley won the 3000m and finished 3rd in the 400. Tope Waheed won the discus. Morganne Booker had a PR in the shot put, 26-4. The Townie Girls next compete on Saturday in the Eastern Division Championship. The remaining meets are State Meet qualifying meets. To reach the State Championship a girl must record a performance that is in the top 18 to qualify, only the top 12 relay teams will qualify.

TOWNIES SPLIT, RECORD NOW 5-1
The Girls Track Team split its dual meet yesterday defeating Mt. Hope  112-21 and losing to Portsmouth on the last race of the day, 72.33-67.67 Erin Carmone won the 800m and 1500m, individual winners were Jasmine Carvalho in the shot put, Tope Waheed in the hammer, Vanessa Brown in the javelin, Sarah Botelho in the 100 hurdles, and  Liz Caruolo in high jump. The Girls Track team is now 5-1 and still has an outside shot to win the Eastern Division Championship, the team needs to defeat Bay View and Barrington in its next dual meet on Monday (May 7) at Barrington.

TOWNIES COMPETE IN FIRST INVITATIONAL
Devhan Hurley had a PR (personal record) in the 1500m on Saturday in the Cumberland Invitational. She ran 5:17.2 in finishing 8th. Also having a personal record on Saturday was Lindsay Poole in the hammer. Townie Girls have a big challenge on Monday when they compete against Portsmouth and Mt. Hope at Portsmouth.

TOWNIES DEFEAT MIDDLETOWN AND ROGERS
The Girls Track team improved to 4-0 with 2 victories yesterday defeating Middletown 96-49 and beating Rogers 90-45. Erin Carmone won both the 800 and 1500 meter runs, Laura Costa won the 3000m run, Danielle Smith won the 100m Hurdles, Lizzie Costa won the 300m Hurdles, Tope Waheed won the hammer throw  and Liz Caruolo won the high jump. The team of Devhan Hurley, Lizzie Costa, Danielle Smith, and Erin Carmone won the 4 x 400m Relay.

Injury Fund Relays Results
The Townie Girls finished 4th in the Class A Division in the annual RI Injury Fund Relay Carnival held at North Kingstown High School. In an awful weather day, it was very cold rainy and windy but the Townie girls performed very well considering the conditions. Two teams finished in the top six, the Distance Medley Relay consisting of Laura Costa, Joanna Ricci, Erin Carmone and Devhan Hurley finished 4th and the Long Jump Relay team of Briana Johnson, Emily Barron and Jessica Eddy finished 5th.

TOWNIES WIN FIRST 2 DUAL MEETS
The first dual meet of the season goes to the Townies beating Tolman 126-13 and Shea 86-51. The Townies are now 2-0 for the season. Double winners were Jessica Eddy (300m Hurdles and Triple Jump) and Devhan Hurley (3000m and 800m). Single event winners were Erin Carmone (400m), Laura Costa (1500m), Liz Caroulo (high jump), Lauren Manning (hammer), and Tope Waheed (discus). The Townies were especially good considering the wind and cold temperatures. The Townies next compete at the Injury Fund Relay Carnival at North Kingstown on Tuesday April 17.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS RELAYS
Anne Monagle and Laura Costa both competed in the Freshman Mile at the Knights of Columbus Relays at Bishop Hendricken High School on Saturday. Monagle broke the meet record with a time of 5:33.5 in winning the mile and Costa finished fourth with a time of 5:59.9. The Townie Girls compete in their first dual meet on Tuesday April 11 against Shea and Tolman at East Providence.

NEW ENGLAND RESULTS
Nicole Reynolds finished 11th in the 200m Dash on Saturday at the New England Track and Field Championships at Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine. Nicole was seeded 11th and finished with a time of 26.7 secs.  Nicole had an excellent season culminating with her second trip to the outdoor New Englands.

REYNOLDS FINISHES THIRD
At the State Championships on Saturday at Brown Stadium Nicole Reynolds finished 3rd in the 200m in a PR of 26.19 better her time of last Saturday at Performance I. She also finished a strong 7th in the 400m with a time of 60.73. Other results, Rachael Procter ran her best time of the season and her career winning the unseeded section of the 1500m with a time of 5:09.73. Molly Hawksley ended a great season finishing 7th in the hammer. Amanda Addison finished 12th in the Shot Put, Joanna Ricci finished 15th in the 1500m and Jessica Eddy finished 17th in the Long Jump.

FRESHMAN AND JV STATES RESULTS
Congratulations to Brianna Am in winning the discus in the Freshman State Championships on Tuesday. Her throw of 92'11 was 14 feet better than her previous best this season. This throw set the Freshman record. In action yesterday at the JV States, Jill Boucher finished 5th in both the long jump and the triple jump and Beth Leonardo finished 6th in the 200m.

TWO RECORDS FALL
Molly Hawksley broke her own school record in winning the hammer on Saturday. Her throw of 157-0 broke her own record of 151-3 set earlier this season. Molly defeated the #1 ranked thrower. Nicole Reynolds broke the 400m record in finishing sixth in a time of 60.1 seconds, this broke the record of Denise Gomes set in 1994. Nicole also set a personal record running a time of 26.1 seconds in the 200m in winning that race. Joanna Ricci in her finest meet of the season ran a personal best time of 5:15.5 in placing sixth. Next on tap for the Townies is the State Championships on Saturday at Brown Stadium.

Nicole Reynolds won the 400m on Saturday and finished 3rd in the 200m leading the Townie Girls to a sixth place finish. Molly Hawksley finished 2nd in the hammer and Amanda Addison finished 3rd in the Shot Put.

REYNOLDS AGAIN LEADS TOWNIES
Nicole Reynolds won the 100m, 200m, and 400m leading the Townies to a second place finish in the Eastern Division Championship on Saturday at Barrington. Molly Hawksley won the hammer with a throw of 145-0 feet. Amanda Addison set a PR with a throw on 32' 6.5" finishing 2nd and Angel Fernandes finished fifth with a throw of 27' 11" in the shot put. Rachael Procter finished 3rd with a PR of 5:14.1 in the 1500m and 3rd in the 800m. Joanna Ricci also ran a PR in the 1500m with a time of 5:21. Jessica Eddy had strong performances finishing 3rd in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the long jump with a PR of 15' 1". Other placements included Kailaigh Cabral two sixth place finishes in the Triple Jump and Javelin. Jill Boucher finished 5th in the Triple Jump, Danielle Smith 4th in the 300m hurdles. Brianna Am, Angel Fernandes, and Mariana DeCosteCalla finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the discus. The Girl Tracksters finished with 124 points second only to meet champion Bay View. The Girls next compete at the Class A meet on Saturday at North Kingstown.

TOWNIES LOSE HEARTBREAKER
The Girls' Track Team lost a very tough meet on Monday to undefeated Bay View 78-75. After one of the best track meets in 10 years the Townies came up on the short end of the stick. Nicole Reynolds won the 100m, 200m, 400m for the 4 consecutive dual meet and also anchored the winning 4 x 400m Relay team to lead the Townies. Rachael Procter in her best meet of her 3 year career ran a personal best 5:17.5 in winning the 1500m and also won the 800m. She also was part of the winning 1600m relay team. Other event winners were Molly Hawksley in the hammer and Angel Fernandes in the discus with a personal best of 81'9". The Townies defeated Middletown to finish with a record on 7-1.

TOWNIES STILL UNDEFEATED
The Girls' Track Team ran its record to 6-0 with victories over Mt. Hope (116-20) and Shea 128-5. The Townies face undefeated Bay View on Monday in a tri-meet at Middletown. Leading the Townies was junior standout Nicole Reynolds winning the 100m, 200m, 400m, and the anchor leg on the winning 4 x 100m Relay Team. Multiple event winners were senior Rachael Procter (800m and 3000m), sophomore Jessica Eddy (100m hurdles and Long Jump). Other individual event winners were Joanna Ricci in the 1500m, Danielle Smith in the 300m hurdles, Kailaigh Cabral in the Javelin, Amanda Addison in the shot put, Marianna DaCoste in the discus, and Jill Boucher in the triple jump. The winning 4 x 100m relay team consisted of Beth Leonard (2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the 100m), Jessica Eddy, Kailaigh Cabral and Reynolds. The only event not won by the Townies was the 4 x 400m Relay.

CUMBERLAND INVITATIONAL RESULTS
Nicole Reynolds again led the Townies with a 2nd Place finish in the 400m in her own PR of 61.1. Finishing third in the shot put was Amanda Addison with a throw of 30'1. Sophomore Marianna DaCoste was fifth in the discus with a throw of 73'10. Saturday was a tough day for a track meet as it rained almost the entire time. Performances were not as good as expected. Townies compete again on Monday trying to improve to 6-0 as they face Mt. Hope and Shea.

TOWNIES CONTINUE WINNING WAYS
Nicole Reynolds continues her excellent junior campaign as she again wins the 100m, 200m, and 400m and was the anchor leg on the winning 4 x 100m relay team. Nicole has won every race she has run in so far this outdoor season. Other top Townie performers included Julie Riley winner in the 3000m, Amanda Addison won the Shot Put and Jessica Eddy in 100m hurdles. All girls performed very well considering the extremely cold and windy conditions. Their record now stands at 4-0.

TOWNIES WIN TWO
Nicole Reynolds won 3 individual events (100m, 200m, and 400m) and was the anchor leg on the winning 4 x 100m relay team leading the Girls' Track team to 2 impressive wins on Monday. The Townies defeated long time nemesis Barrington 75-66 and Rogers 112-25. Other event winners were Amanda Addison in the shot put, Jessica Eddy in the 300m hurdles, Kailaigh Cabral in the Long Jump, Marianna de CosteCalla in the discus. Other members of the 4 x 100m relay team included Beth Leonardo, Jaira Adams, and Felicia Roderick.

Hawksley Wins Knights of Columbus Hammer
Molly Hawksley broke her own school record in the hammer with a throw of 151'3 on Sunday to win the Knights of Columbus Hammer throw. Five of her throws cleared 140 feet on her way to winning.  Her previous best throw of 123'4 set the school record last season.
