Townies topple
the Titans to win the Division I State

After a heartbreaking 24-26 loss in game 1 the
Townies cranked up the intensity and began to
chip away at the undefeated Titans. East
Providence took game 2 and never looked back
winning 3-1.

May 28th-Semifinals (NK)- Box Score
The Townies advance to the State
Championship match for the 2nd Season in a row
by defeating #3 Seeded North Kingstown in 4
games. |

May 23rd-Quarterfinals (Chariho)- Box Score
The Townies came out with another dominating
performance beating Chariho is straight sets.
The Townies put together a solid performance
both on offense (James Boyce 14 Kills) and
defense (Kyle Towne 9 digs). The townies
will face NK on Wednesday night at RIC. |

May 19th-Coventry (Senior
Night)- Box Score
The Townies put on a show for senior night
dominating the match and earning a straight set
victory. Leading the assault was Senior Captain
James Boyce (14 kills). The Townies finish
the regular season in 2nd place and will start
their state championship quest Friday night at
home against 7th seeded Chariho. |

May 17th-J.V. States
The Townies advanced to the semi-finals but
were defeated by Hendricken 2-1. |

The Townies defeated chariho 3-1. |

The Townies complete the season sweep of
Hendricken with a 3-0 victory. |

The Townies avenged their first round lose

The Townies were swept monday night by the
undefeated Titans. |

April 29th-North Kingstown -

The Townies opened up the second round of
the regular season with an impressive straight
set sweep of North Kingstown. |

April 27th-9th&10th Grade
Tournament
The Townies had an outstanding day at the
9th and 10th Grade tournament. They
reached the finals where they were defeated by
N.K 2-1. |

The Townies up 2 games to 1 could not finish
the match. |

April 23rd-Chariho -
Box
Score
The Townies swept the Chargers at home.
The townies balanced offense proved to be to
much for the chargers. |

April 19th-RIBVCA mid-season
Tournament
The Townies finished second in pool play
with a 3-1 record. They went on to defeat
the number 5 seeded Chariho Chargers in the
quarterfinals. The Townies then faced #1
Seeded Toll Gate in the semi-finals. After
losing game 1, EP came back and took game 2
forcing a third and deciding game. After a
hard fought match the townies came up short
losing 16-18. |

April 16th-Hendricken -
Box Score
The Townies snapped a 7
game losing streak against the Hawks with a 3-1
victory. |

April 12th & 13th-Boys
Showcase of Champions-Holyoke, MA
The Townies participated
in the first ever Showcase of Champions at
Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA.
On saturday the boys defeated Newton North 3-1.
Sunday saw the Townies being swept by
Lincoln-Sudbury. David Reynolds earned
Most Outstanding Player of the Game for both
matches. |

April 10th-Toll Gate -

The Townies could not
complete the comeback after starting off 0-2,
the townies won games 3 and 4 and came back from
a 9-14 defecit in game 5 to tie the score at
14-14 . After several hard fought rallys
the townies fell by a score of 18-16. |

April 8th-East Greenwich -

The Townies suffer first
lose after going up 2-0 to East Greenwich |

April 3rd-South
Kingstown -
Box Score
The Townies improved to
2-0 with a 3-1 victory of S. Kingstown.
Leading the Townie attack was James Boyce & Sean
Rahill with 14 kills each and Matt Rendine with
5 blocks. |

April 2nd-North
Kingstown -
Box Score
The Townies opened the
2008 season with a 3-1 victory over N.Kingstown.
After a slow offense start the townies turned it
on in game 4 to finish the match will a 25-10
victory. The boys travel to South
Kingstown on Thursday in hopes of completing the
first round sweep of the Kingstowns!

All boys interested in trying out for
this years team should turn in all paywork by
Friday March 14th. Tryouts will begin on
Monday March 17th at 2:00pm in the gym. |
